Since the age of 19, Sat Kartar has practiced the powerful and transformative discipline of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. This process has refined his sensory system and his flow of energy, enabling him to tune in deeply as a healer. Formal training in massage and bodywork gives him a vehicle for helping and healing people through touch.
A recent graduate of Crestone Healing Arts Center's 630-hour Massage Program, Sat Kartar has also completed training with the BioSync® Research Institute as a level I practitioner. Combining these with his KRI (Kundalini Research Institute) certification to teach Kundalini Yoga and Meditation, he offers treatments that combine the appropriate modalities to address the client's specific needs and concerns.
"As a therapist my main goal is your health and wellbeing. The journey to that balance is a journey of empowerment, awareness and self-discovery. My role in this process is as a facilitator; to be perceptive, intuitive and neutral in assisting you on your journey. In Qi Gong (Chinese Yoga) there is an expression "Divine recognizes Divine". Simply put, it means that the Divine in me aligns with the Divine in you for the purpose of healing. My job is to hold the space for that to take place."
Sat Kartar is designated as a Certified Massage Therapist (CMT) by the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Nursing. He is nationally certified by NCBTMB, the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.
He is insured and a member in good standing of ABMP, Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals. He is qualified to use the following healing modalities: BioSync®, Jin Shin Acupressure, Shiatsu, Foot & Hand Reflexology, Swedish Massage, Tsubo Shiatsu, Assisted Stretch, Aromatherapy, Raindrop Technique and Integrated Massage.
Sat Kartar is also qualified to use the tools of Traditional Chinese Medicine for assessment purposes. This includes Meridian assessment via radial wrist pulses, Sheng and Ko Cycles, Five Element markers and Qi Gong. Sat Kartar has received training in Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP), Bio-Kinesiology, Ayur Vedic Health, Homeopathy, Flower Essences and Herbology for Massage Therapists, all of which help to inform the way he works.
